It's that time of year again where I get organised for the Xmas Mini Sessions. Outside of work, I'm not really one for thinking about Xmas so early, though since having a wee one to consider, it does help to be organised! Christmas songs are never far from our playlist these days, since Arlo realised he could tell Alexa to play anything he wants! He loves Christmas... and who could blame him? He has recently discovered a punk rock version of 'We Wish You A Merry Xmas' that has particularly tickled his fancy.
I've been considering this year's backdrop for some time now. I loved last years one so much it's been hard to find a better one. I just love the glow of the lights and the snowy scene. A plan is afoot though, and once I get some test shots done, I will post some pictures.
So... the location is sorted, the website is updated, I've contacted the mailing list, the booking form is ready and the advertising is good to go.
It was great to be able to use the Town Hall foyer last year, but fortunately for them, events have restarted, so I wanted to find somewhere nice and quiet, with easy access for prams and good parking. As soon as I saw the Williamson Hall, I knew it was just perfect.
For those early birds, we have an early booking price, so please take advantage of that.
I enjoyed last year's sessions so much and can't wait to capture all your little smilers in 2021. I like to be relaxed and patient in my photography style and go with the flow of how the children are feeling. It can be strange for them to come into a different environment, but they will usually find a prop that tickles their imagination for long enough to get that shot! 15 minutes is longer than you think and in many ways ideal for littles with short attention spans.
